Evergreen Park Casino is one of the two casinos situated in Grande Prairie in Alberta, Canada. It is a part of the Evergreen Park exhibition facility, the largest of its kind north of Edmonton. The entire exhibition facility is owned by a not-for-profit organization, The Grande Prairie Regional Agricultural & Exhibition Society, founded in 1910. The organization is continuously improving the offer of Evergreen Park by adding new entertainment and hospitality services, such as a variety of halls, conference facilities, restaurants, and more.
Apart from hosting the casino, Evergreen Park is home to the best horse racing facility in western Canada, allowing the visitors to place bets on a harness, quarter horse, and thoroughbred racing.
The casino has been in operation since 2008 and is one of the few Albertan casinos operating outside of Edmonton. Evergreen Park Casino features over 3,000 square feet of gaming space with 99 slot machines and 12 VLTs. The casino is attached to the Gordon Badger Stadium, which is a part of the race track complex, giving the visitors of the casino a good view of the races and a chance to play the ponies.
In addition to all the casino action, visitors can also enjoy daily specials, chef-inspired menus, and many delicacies in The Pines Restaurant, an integral part of the Evergreen Park Casino.
Evergreen Park Casino does not have a hotel adjacent to it, but there is The McGovern’s RV & Marine Campground for those who prefer to stay outdoors. Also, several hotels in Grande Prairie can be easily reached within minutes from Evergreen Park Casino.

The casino at Evergreen Park Casino
Evergreen Park Casino is nestled on the southern outskirts of Grande Prairie, where the entire complex has been since 1982. Every year, the 1,200 acres of space host over 500,000 visitors who want to see the best horse racing action at the J.D.A Raceway and experience top casino action.
Evergreen Park Casino is one of Alberta’s smallest casinos, as its gaming floor occupies 3,000 ft² of space at the Gordon Badger Stadium. As far as the gaming offer goes, players can indulge in 99 different slot machines of various denominations and 12 Video Lottery Terminals (VLTs). The slots are mostly classic 5-reel and 3-reel machines from renowned providers such as IGT and Aristocrat Gaming.
Unfortunately, there are no casino table games nor a dedicated poker room.
To take a break from the action, you can visit The Pines Family Restaurant adjacent to the casino and enjoy an excellent hearty breakfast served throughout the day.
Even though the casino is no stranger to promotions and special discounts, no such promotion or bonus is currently available.
Slot machines
During its 12-year history, Evergreen Park Casino has managed to keep its offer of slot machines fresh and entertaining. New titles are added almost immediately upon release, and even though there are only 99 slot machines, they include some of the most popular games in the world.
The game supplier network includes industry giants, such as IGT, Aristocrat Gaming, and Bally. The players can find 5-reel and 3-reel slots of various betting ranges, from penny slots to those where each crank of the one-armed bandit’s lever can cost several dollars.
Some of the most popular slot titles include slots from the Quick Hit series featuring Scatter symbols that pay in the bonus round as well as the base game. There are also Pure Gold and Pure Magic slots from Aristocrat and progressive jackpots such as Diamond Millions and Super Red Hot Jackpots that offer payouts worth thousands, even millions of dollars.
Evergreen Park Casino frequently hosts free slot tournaments where players can compete for cash prizes and restaurant discounts.
Table games
Sadly, there are no classic table games at Evergreen Park Casino in Grande Prairie. Therefore, the gaming offer is significantly reduced, but the casino manages to compensate with its large selection of slots and VLT machines featuring keno– and bingo-style games.
Off-track betting at Evergreen Park Casino
Evergreen Park Casino might not have a full-fledged sportsbook, but that doesn’t mean betting is not available. As a part of the Gordon Badger Stadium, which is home to the J.D.A. Raceway, the casino offers two betting kiosks where punters can bet on off-track horse races from around the world and live pari-mutuel horse racing during summer months. Eight large screens show races from racetracks all around the globe.
Visitors to the casino can enjoy most traditional horse-betting markets, such as choosing the winning horse; or more illustrious bets, such as Quinella, Trifecta, Superfecta, etc.
Evergreen Park Casino poker room
Regrettably, Evergreen Park Casino does not have a dedicated poker room where players can square off in a heated game of No-Limit Texas Hold’em or other poker games. Even more regrettable is the fact that there aren’t any games you can play against the dealer, so if poker action is what you seek, you need to look elsewhere.
