The Toronto Blue Jays will return to the field for the 2021 season on Thursday, April 1 when they take on the New York Yankees. With the 1:05 p.m. ET start time, this will be the first game of the season to begin the entire MLB Opening Day slate.

The MLB will return to its 162-game slate for 2021 after a shortened 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the Blue Jays are still not going to be playing in their home ballpark in Toronto at least to start the season due to travel restrictions with the pandemic. They will play their home games in Dunedin, Florida through at least the middle of May. It remains to be seen where the Blue Jays will play after that. Being the only team in the league outside of the United States, the Blue Jays are the only organization playing away from their home ballpark to start the year.

Below is a look at some of the futures betting options for the team in addition to odds individual player awards for the Blue Jays this season. All odds are via a popular United States sportsbook.

To look at some of the league-wide futures betting options, PlayCanada published MLB team futures and MLB player futures articles.

Team Futures

There are plenty of futures odds to check out, but we’ll take a look at some of the major accomplishments including odds on the Blue Jays winning the World Series, American League and the East Division along with what oddsmakers project as their regular season win total and whether they will advance to the postseason.

World Series Winner

Toronto is tied for the eighth best odds to win the World Series title in 2021 at +2200 along with the Houston Astros and St. Louis Cardinals.

American League Winner

To represent the American League in the World Series, the Blue Jays have a better chance than they do to win it. Toronto is getting the fifth best odds at +875.

American League East Winner

To win the American League East Division, the Blue Jays have the second best odds to accomplish that feat at +355 odds only behind the New York Yankees as heavy favorites at -215 to win the division.

Regular Season Wins

Oddsmakers set the total number of wins for the organization at 86.5 with -112 odds on the over and under.

To Make the Playoffs

While the previous achievements like World Series, American League and A.L. East winners are a bit far fetched according to the oddsmakers, they suggest there is roughly a 50% chance the Blue Jays find themselves in the playoffs. There is -112 odds on each side of whether Toronto will advance to the postseason.

Individual Futures

There are plenty of futures betting options to select, but here’s a look at the Blue Jays’ top players for Most Valuable Player, Cy Young, Rookie of the Year and others.

Most Valuable Player

Toronto third basemen Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is getting +2500 odds to win the American League MVP award, which is tied for the eighth best chance to win it along with Tim Anderson, Jose Abreau, Yoan Moncada, Luis Robert and Gleyber Torres.

Cy Young

The Blue Jays’ ace Hyun-Jin Ryu has the fifth best odds to come away with the American League Cy Young award this season with +1300 odds.

Rookie of the Year

American League Rookie of the Year is difficult to project with so many variables, but Toronto pitcher Nate Pearson has the seventh best odds to claim the award at +1500 odds, tied with two other players including Bobby Dalbec and Casey Mize.

Manager of the Year

If the Blue Jays significantly exceed expectations, there’s a decent shot their manager Charlie Montoyo could win the American League Manager of the Year award. He is getting the fifth best odds at +700 to accomplish this in his third season as the team’s manager.
