A notable name in the global slot machine and casino game supplier business is on its way to Québec.

Announced via press release on Jan. 25, Aristocrat Gaming shared that it has been granted entry into the Québec gambling market. Specifically, the Sydney, Australia-based brand will join the province’s video lottery terminal sector.

According to the release, Aristocrat expects distribution of its VLTs to begin in early summer 2024.

Both supplier and operator thrilled with partnership

For Aristocrat, a company with footprints in more than 20 countries worldwide, engaging with a growing gambling environment like Québec is exactly what drives it forward.

“Gaining entry into the Québec VLT market is another major milestone for the company, demonstrating our vested interest in these emerging segments, and allowing us to bring our award-winning products to new markets and their players,” said Kurt Gissane, Chief Revenue Officer for Aristocrat Gaming in the release. “We’re excited for the opportunity to have a presence in Québec and are hopeful for a longstanding relationship with Loto-Québec.”

While more concise in his praise of the deal, Stéphane Fraser, Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of Gaming Establishments at Loto-Québec, echoed Gissane’s statement. He said the provincial lottery provider is “pleased” about the partnership.

New Aristocrat deal bolsters Loto-Québec’s strong VLT sector

The deal comes at a particularly opportune time for Loto-Québec, which recently shared its results from the first half of the 2023-24 fiscal year. In that timeframe (Apr. 1 to Sept. 25, 2023), the crown corporation posted total revenues of $1.412 billion and a net income of $736.8 million.

Evidently, the results were “in line with its normal growth trajectory” according to the accompanying statement from president and CEO Jean-Francois Bergeron. The kicker, however, is that Loto-Québec largely credited the success of its gaming establishment sector ($441.2 million) to video lottery terminals.

Following the introduction of a leading supplier like Aristocrat, an already thriving sector just became that much stronger.

10 games coming to Québec VLTs as part of new deal

With the new alliance between Aristocrat and Loto-Québec comes 10 new games to La Belle Province. Per the release, the list of popular titles includes:

  • Bao Zhu Zhao Fu
  • Red Festival
  • Fire Light
  • Fu Dai Lian Lian Panda
  • Scorchin’ Fortune
  • Prosperity of the Nile
  • Flamin’ Hits

These games, in particular, will be available on Aristocrat’s new MidKnight X Upright cabinet.
