It’s a partnership made for Vegas.
BetMGM and PokerGO inked a deal to host the first-ever BetMGM Poker Championship final table and a $25K freeroll tournament June 22-25. The event occurs in the PokerGO Studio at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.
According to Luke Staudenmaier, BetMGM’s director of poker:
“PokerGO delivers the best in poker content to fans around the world, and we’re thrilled to welcome them as a valued partner of the BetMGM Poker Championship.
“Through this relationship, the first-ever championship final table and freeroll participants will play some of the most important hands of their lives in PokerGO’s iconic studio. With Jeff Platt and Jamie Kerstetter on the mic, players will have the opportunity to claim poker glory that will live on PokerGO’s platform for years to come.”
BetMGM Ontario online poker players welcome
As of May 23, Ontario online poker players could join their fellow US competitors in qualifying for the event. Winning qualifiers earn championship buy-in and, potentially, travel expenses and a five-night stay at ARIA.
Buy-in for Ontario poker players started for as little as $5. Winners must make it through four steps before the final (and two guaranteed top prizes).
The newly added no-limit hold ’em freeroll takes place June 22. The contest is available exclusively to BetMGM Poker Championship online qualifiers.
Four days of poker events with a $1M guarantee
Starting June 23, the championship is a $3,500 buy-in no-limit hold ’em tournament with a whopping US$1 million guarantee (CA$1.28M).
The tourney occurs during the 2022 ARIA Poker Classic and features four days of BetMGM poker events (June 23-25).
BetMGM Poker will award prize packages to 15+ players from each live US poker market. Six players from BetMGM’s online poker platform will also win. There is no official mention of who the qualifiers are yet. But at least two will get there from BetMGM’s Ontario-based online poker players.
ARIA Poker Classic to feature four events
On June 25, a $600 buy-in BetMGM Poker Mystery Bounty marks ARIA’s first time offering this type of live tournament.
Mystery Bounty events are gaining popularity as they add sweat factor to the game. Players can expect the occasion will be a remarkable one that draws a sizable field.
“The first-ever BetMGM Poker Championship descends on Las Vegas during one of the most exciting times of the poker season,” said Staudenmaier.
“ARIA is a legendary poker brand, and we’re thrilled that the championship has become an integral part of this year’s Poker Classic. Through our relationship with MGM Resorts and its world-class US properties, we’ll continue to leverage event programming and connect with players both online and in their favourite poker rooms.”
BetMGM ambassadors Darren Elias and Matt Berkey hosted the company’s March Poker Mania series and will host the $25k freeroll.
