Cascades Casino in Delta BC hiring hundreds ahead of fall opening. Jobs employment opportunity ahead road sign

If you build it, they will come. But before ‘they’ do, you need to staff it, too.

That’s what’s happening at the newest British Columbia casino, Cascades Casino Delta, ahead of its fall opening. Expectations for the new property include 600 jobs and more than $99 million for the Delta, BC economy.

To that end, Gateway Casinos & Entertainment will hold a series of virtual job fairs to meet those expectations. Those interested in the open positions can apply via the company’s website.

Open roles offer strong wages, benefits, training, and growth

Positions available at Cascades Casino Delta include all roles, from casino workers to hospitality and support hires.

On the casino side, Cascades Delta is looking for dealers, supervisors and slot machine attendants for the casino floor. Roles for guest services representatives and supervisors also need filling.

Further, support roles, including security officers, cashiers, count team (members and supervisors), cooks, assistant chefs, a sous chef, servers, bartenders, hosts and dishwashers, are also open.

According to Rowland England, Gateway’s vice president of operations for BC West:

“Our goal is to create memorable experiences for our guests. To do that, we need to grow our team. We are looking for those that share our passion for people and commitment to exceptional customer service. I know we will find great local residents to join our team and deliver on this commitment.”

Those hired can expect “excellent wages, benefits, paid training, and in-house advancement opportunities.”

And they’ll join Rick Tite, Cascades Delta’s first hire.

Tite accepted the food & beverage manager role after working with Gateway in various capacities since 2014. Most recently, he spent five years leading culinary operations for BC & Alberta as a member of the corporate team.

Said Tite:

“I am thrilled to be a part of the community and embark on this new adventure here in Delta. Our commitment is to ensure every guest that visits us leaves with a memorable experience. I look forward to meeting you all and creating some wonderful moments together.”

Cascades Casino Delta will feature “state-of-the-art” gaming

When complete, the 160,000-square-foot entertainment property will feature a “state-of-the-art” gaming floor alongside multiple dining and culinary choices. That includes Gateway’s signature restaurant, Match Eatery & Public House, the Summit Bar, and a full-service buffet. The complex also offers meeting and event space.

Gateway Casinos & Entertainment is one of Canada’s largest gaming and entertainment companies, with 27 gaming properties across BC, Ontario and Alberta.

In early 2022, Gateway opened Cascades Casino North Bay in Ontario, three years after first breaking ground. In that case, the 39,000-square-foot venue holds 300 machines, ten electronic tables, and six blackjack and roulette tables. It also boasts a restaurant called The Match Eatery, alongside additional perks and amenities.

Cascades Delta will host its first virtual job fairs through Indeed on July 28th and August 3rd.
