Canadian Gavin Tucker will be fighting in prelims against Billy Quarantillo on Saturday, Dec. 12. This is part of Saturday night’s UFC 256 event that will be held at UFC’s APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Tucker and Quarantillo will be the third of four preliminary fights, which start at 8 p.m. ET. The early preliminaries will get started at 7:30 p.m. ET with the main card getting started at 10 p.m. ET, headlined by Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno.
Gavin Tucker
Tucker, who was born and raised in St. Anthony, Newfoundland and Labrador, heads into this fight having won 12 of his first 13 fights. He stands 5-foot-7 and weighs 145 pounds, with a 66-inch reach and a leg reach of 38 inches.
Tucker won his last two fights, and in his last time out he defeated Justin Jaynes back on Aug. 8. Tucker won in the third round via submission at the 1:46 mark. That was his first fight of 2020, as he took down Seung Woo Choi in a decision following three rounds in the summer of 2019.
Prior to that, Tucker suffered his lone loss in 2017 to Rick Glenn in a decision.
Billy Quarantillo
Quarantillo is from Ransomville, New York, and is going into this one with a 15-2 record. He stands 5-foot-10 at 145 pounds. He has a four-inch advantage with a 70-inch reach, though he has the exact same leg reach of Tucker, at 38 inches.
Quarantillo has been in the octagon more often than Tucker, who had been dealing with an injury, over the last few years. This will be his third fight of 2020, and he hasn’t lost a fight since losing to Michel Quinones in 2016 with eight consecutive victories.
In his last time out, Quarantillo defeated Canadian Kyle Nelson on Sept. 12 with a knockout eight seconds into the third round. Prior to that, he earned a unanimous decision against Spike Carlyle back in May.
