Horseshoe online casino, Caesars’ newest iGaming brand, went live in Ontario on Friday. The brand makes its highly anticipated debut north of the US border following a successful state-by-state rollout that began in Michigan on Oct. 2.

It is the 84th legal online gambling site in Ontario.

Establishing Horseshoe’s presence in Ontario was always the plan for the world-class gambling and entertainment provider.

President of Caesars Sports and Online Eric Hession confirmed that during a Q2 earnings call in July, saying the gradual rollout process involved “ending in Ontario in Q1 (2025).” All in all, the operator delivered its Ontario online casino arrival well ahead of its estimated timeline.

Senior Vice President and Chief iGaming Officer at Caesars, Matt Sunderland, discussed the latest launch in a press release.

“The Horseshoe brand is anchored by a promise to put the player first. A brand with such a storied past deserves an online equivalent that pays respect to the legacy it has established in gaming, and that is what we’ve created with Horseshoe Online Casino. This launch reinforces our multi-brand online casino strategy by seamlessly bringing another one of our world-class Caesars brands into the palms of players’ hands.”
Ontario joins Pennsylvania and West Virginia as the third jurisdiction to welcome Horseshoe within the past week. A launch in New Jersey is expected before the end of 2024 as well.

Horseshoe has strong stable of gambling options

As expected from a Caesars brand, Horseshoe Casino Ontario comes equipped with a hearty array of online casino options.

Players can access all the classics, including regular and jackpot slots, virtual table games, video poker, and live dealer games.

Horseshoe’s assortment of live dealer and table games contains all the go-to’s in roulette, blackjack, baccarat, and much more.

In addition to a well-rounded wagering catalogue, Horseshoe is quite accessible for Ontario iGaming goers thanks to a smooth-functioning app and intuitive website.

Envisioned as complement to Caesars Palace

If Horseshoe Casino Ontario plays similarly to its Michigan doppelgänger, it will serve Caesars Palace Ontario in a complementary capacity.

And that’s more than alright. In fact, it’s what Hession expects.

“I also would tamper the expectations. Horseshoe is a great brand, and we feel like it’s going to resonate with a lot of customers. But Caesars is even a better brand. And quite frankly, that’s going to be the flagship app that we have, and it’s got a year’s lead over Horseshoe. So I would expect the Horseshoe to perform very strongly, but I don’t think it will command the market share that Caesars has.”

While iGaming Ontario does not offer operator revenue data, Caesars’ prominent presence in both the online and retail casino spheres bodes well for Hession’s evaluation of both brands.
