International Game Technology (IGT) has extended its INTELLIGEN contract with Atlantic Lottery Corporation (ALC) for another year.

The contract expansion marks another step in the ALC’s ongoing partnership with IGT. In particular, the updated contract partners IGT’s subsidiary IGT Canada Solutions ULC with ALC.

As per this agreement, IGT Canada Solutions will continue providing its cutting-edge video lottery central management system, INTELLIGEN.

Systems deployed worldwide

INTELLIGEN equips lottery operators with the technology needed to manage networks and provide the optimal gaming experience for players.

Moreover, these systems connect about 150,000 video lottery terminals (VLTs) in different gaming environments.

The Atlantic Lottery alone operates more than 6,000 VLTs across four of Canada’s eastern provinces. These include New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland and Labrador.

The company’s INTELLIGEN system currently powers all the country’s VLTs

The ALC and IGT go way back

The ALC became an IGT customer in 1982. Not only that, since 1990, the gaming technology company has provided the Lottery with VLTs.

In 2012, IGT reached an agreement to supply 1,612 VLTs to the Lottery to replace obsolete units.

In addition to the video lottery central system, IGT also provides the Lottery with VLT cabinets. Video lottery content, casino and bingo games, and various slot machines are among other services and products available.

The extension of the contract

“IGT’s INTELLIGEN system offers the Atlantic Lottery progressive tools and functionality that help position the Lottery for future success,” said Nick Khin, IGT’s COO.

“With more than 25 years of gaming central system development expertise with customers worldwide, IGT is happy to continue providing our advanced INTELLIGEN system to enhance the Lottery’s VLT system performance.”

A strong year for IGT

Only a month ago, IGT announced a 74% year-on-year increase in revenue to over $1 billion in its latest financial results.

IGT also revealed its global lottery delivered the second-highest revenue and profit levels in its history.

The strong year for the company has it raising its 2021 outlook. IGT is expecting to surpass 2019 levels for critical financial metrics.
