With Ontario’s massive online casino market now open, players have many more options at their fingertips.
As of Monday afternoon, 13 operators received the go-ahead to launch their websites in Ontario.
That milestone comes after completing the regulatory process with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and signing commercial agreements and iGaming Ontario.
This is undoubtedly good news for Ontarian gaming enthusiasts. And those who prefer live dealer options will be thrilled to know Ontario online casinos offer HEAPS of live games.
Near endless choice of live dealer titles in Ontario online casinos
One of the reasons live dealer games are so popular is because they are similar to a real casino experience. They also have a live chat option so players can easily communicate with the dealer.
Live games selection is robust in the majority of online casinos that entered the Ontario market this morning. These include operators such as 888, Coolbet, LeoVegas, BetMGM, BetRivers and theScore.
One of the major reasons why there are so many options available is because, unlike in the United States, regulators are not requiring live dealer games to be run from inside the jurisdiction. It’s part of the regulatory puzzle put together in Ontario as the province moved grey market operators from overseas licensure to Canada.
South of the border, live dealer online casino games are trickling slowly to the consumer. Thus, Canadian brands are lapping the American field on its first day.
Ontario players are playing games originating all over the world, including from Riga, Latvia and Malta, a small Meditteranean island nation off the coast of Italy that’s a hub for the online gambling industry.
Many games are managed by Evolution, a global leader in the casino game supplier sector.
A solid start for live games at BetMGM Ontario
Interestingly, BetMGM Online Casino in Ontario offers noticeably more live dealer games than its US counterparts. The games are divided into different categories: featured, live blackjack, live roulette, live baccarat, live poker and live game shows.
Monday, there were nearly 30 live games to choose from. The selection of exclusive titles includes MGM Grand Millions, Premium Blackjack Pro, and Mega Mirage Magma.
BetMGM’s private studio features six live casino blackjack tables, giving players access to the full Evolution portfolio of online live casino games and games shows.
Evolution also teamed with BetMGM for brand-specific tables this week (in addition to theScore). More are on the way.
BetRivers’ live games off to a good start
BetRivers Casino‘s selection of over 30 live dealer games is admirable too.
The Rush Street Interactive brand offers plenty of options to choose from when it comes to blackjack, baccarat, poker and roulette. Players can pick variants like Infinite Blackjack, Power Blackjack, Instant Roulette, American Roulette, Ultimate Texas Holdem and Baccarat First Person.
Other popular live games include Lightning Dice, Crazy Time, Craps Live and Monopoly Live.
888 Casino’s 196 live games set standards

More operators bringing more options to Canadian players
Twenty-eight gaming suppliers have registered with AGCO and iGaming Ontario and will be partnering with registered online casinos. The companies are now ready to provide their games and services in the province.
Earlier this year, Evolution’s executive Jeff Millar told PlayCanada the company already had deals in place with over 20 operators to supply games in Ontario.
“We, as suppliers, cannot allow any operator who’s serving the grey market to have access to Evolution content,” he said. “So, that way, the government is trying to get this grey market out and substitute it for a regulated one.”
Millar said that more than 20 operators who previously served the grey market signed agreements with Evolution. They’ve since decided to exit and re-enter with approval from Ontario.
Now the company is off to a good start to offer many live games to Ontario sports bettors.
