The SiGMA Americas Summit is now behind us. The startup competition, SiGMA Pitch 2022, was on Day 2 of the big gaming conference in Toronto this week.

Out of the 100 startups that applied, only 10 SiGMA finalists showcased their gaming-related ideas on June 8. And out of the 10, one is the winner and taker of the $500,000 in value prize. Mobil Fund will receive money toward office space, networking, consultancy expenses and marketing.

Who is the SiGMA Pitch winner?

Mobil Fund, with a tagline of “the home of gaming for good,” is a software company based in Calgary. Its focus is on mobile platforms’ services for the charity raffle and lottery market in Canada and the United States. The startup created the least expensive, simple and easiest way for charities to raise money.

John Williams, MobilFund’s CEO, said:

“What we have to do is to help our company be successful. But I want to help these guys [other competitors] be successful, too. I am so grateful for this on behalf of the leadership team and the stakeholders and mobile funds, but all these guys are up here.”

Williams didn’t want to leave his competition behind:

“Nine other amazing companies; don’t forget about them. They need some help because we are the future of this industry. They started on ground zero as well and built into something substantial. We’re now on our way to do that, and we are so thankful to be part of SiGMA.

“This is a game-changer and thank you very much for your patience and understanding and supporting us moving forward.”

The competition at SiGMA was fierce. The other nine candidates were:

  1. Betswap Limited
  2. Parleh
  3. PokerLoad
  4. PlaynBrag
  5. Sparket
  6. We the Bookie
  7. eSquad
  8. letBob
  9. ATLAS

The judges – Daven Michaels, Holly Gagnon, Seth Scorr and Edward King – were the ones to issue the final vote on the winner.

SiGMA Pitch, a must-attend event

Offering investment opportunities and access to mentorship from some of the industry’s top experts make the SiGMA Pitch finalists’ live pitching event a must-attend place.

It is a perfect opportunity for all startups to show up and try to take their business to the next level. Furthermore, the diverse schedule of content and the opportunity to meet some of the industry’s leading thinkers made SiGMA Pitch a must on anyone’s to-do list when visiting the exhibition.

Toronto, a gaming networking hub

The Toronto conference brought industry veterans, iGaming leaders and policymakers together.

Moreover, all contributors had an opportunity to hear about the newly regulated gambling in Ontario, learn about the latest trends in affiliate marketing, and make new connections. Apart from networking, attendees had a chance to hear a series of panel discussions, join interactive workshops and attend some expert-led lectures.

Over the years, the SiGMA Group has built quite a reputation for hosting networking events in the form of spectacular dinners, fancy gala evenings or the enthusiastic crowded exhibition floor. With the new regulations, Toronto was an excellent choice to celebrate the industry’s latest developments.
