Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) is changing how Ontarians “play” with their new mobile app.

The easy-to-use update allows you to get right to the game, whether in the online casino or lottery lobby. And, the app includes a ticket scanner, too, so players will always know when their lotto dreams come true. Android users looking can do so as early as this week. Those with iOS hardware had to wait a bit longer for an Apple-compatible version, but it’s downloadable now.

“OLG.ca is the trusted digital platform of choice in Ontario, and now our players can have that same confidence in the OLG app,” said Duncan Hannay, OLG president and CEO. “Whether they’re making a deposit, playing their favourite game, or scanning their tickets to check for winners.”

Over a million served

With over 1 million players currently registered on OLG.ca, the provincial corporation intends to deliver world-class gambling entertainment. And the mobile update shows OLG’s commitment to the digital space.

Through the app, customers can access jackpot details and use the scanner to check their tickets― all without logging in. However, an OLG.ca account is necessary to purchase lotto online in Ontario, play Ontario real-money casino games, or make deposits and withdrawals.

Unfortunately, OLG’s current lottery app users must register for an OLG.ca account as existing login details don’t mesh with the new technology. But, new players can sign up now to receive as much as $300 as a bonus.

Even more important is the integration of OLG’s award-winning PlaySmart program tools within the app. With that, players can get the facts about games before they risk anything and personal limits are easy to set. As usual, play is limited to folks 18 and up for lotto purchases, 19 plus for all other bets.

Let’s make a deal

The one-stop-shop for lottery tickets and casino games is a team effort between OLG and the United Kingdom’s Bede Gaming

Bede also provided the digital solution for the revamped OLG.ca and player platform launched in late 2020. Hundreds of thousands of players have registered in the time since.

“The launch of the new OLG App is the latest in a series of exciting product launches for OLG and Bede,” said Bede’s executive vice president, Sarah Hitchcock. “We are extremely proud of the App, having worked hand in hand with OLG. And look forward to giving Ontarians a first-class mobile experience.”

OLG continues to expand into the digital space with this newest launch while keeping customer’s needs central. As always, proceeds from OLG.ca and the app get reinvested locally to improve Ontarian’s quality of life. Since 1975, OLG has turned over nearly $55 billion to support priorities like health care, problem gambling, and amateur athletics.
