Entertainment Options Heating Up At Ontario Casinos

Casino Rama, Caesars Windsor and Fallsview Casino Resort have some big entertainment names hitting the stage in coming weeks.

Live entertainment season is heating up at Ontario casinos with an array of concerts and shows scheduled for the coming weeks.

Major performers are due to appear live at three of the province’s biggest casinos: Casino Rama, Caesars Windsor, and Fallsview Casino Resort.

Here’s a look at some notable shows at each destination:

Casino Rama

Ice Cube

Date:  Friday, Feb. 24.

Showtime: 9 p.m.; doors open at 8 p.m.

Genre: Hip-Hop/Rap

Legendary rapper turned actor, Ice Cube, is bringing his signature ’90s attitude to Orillia. Touted as one of the most influential figures in the history of rap music, “Cube” got his start almost two decades ago as a key member of N.W.A. Known for smash-hit releases like Straight Outta Compton and album’s AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted and Death Certificate, it’s no surprise the Los Angeles native was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as part of N.W.A in 2016 and honoured with his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2017.

Warrant w/ Quiet Riot and Helix

Date: Saturday, April, 22

Genre: Rock/Metal

1970s and ’80s metal fans, unite! Catch glam metal band Warrant (“Cherry Pie,” “Uncle Tom’s Cabin,” “I Saw Red”), along with nostalgia machine, Quiet Riot (“C*m on Feel the Noize,” “Metal Health,” “Mama Weer All Crazee Now”) and Kitchener-based metal group, Helix (“Rock You,” “No Rest for the Wicked,” “Wild in the Streets”) for a night of reminiscence and (hopefully) textbook mullets.

Daughtry

Genre: Rock

Led by lead singer and namesake Chris Daughtry, the alternative rock group out of McLeansville, NC has held a steady presence in the industry since their debut album reached number one on the Billboard 200 back in 2007. Experience the highly melodic, post-grunge sounds that made Daughtry a steadying presence in the rock game for 15-plus years.

Jim Jefferies

From the land Down Under to Windsor, Jim Jefferies is bringing his bold style of comedy to Caesars. Recognized for his work on FX sitcom Legit and his own late-night show, The Jim Jefferies Show, on Comedy Central, the Aussie comic soon embarks on the next leg of his Give ‘em What They Want Tour.

I Love the 90’s Tour

Date: Thursday, March 2

Dust off the old jnco jeans and plaid flannel shirts because the I Love the 90’s Tour, featuring Vanilla Ice, Rob Base, Sugar Hill Gang & Young MC is right around the corner. Relive some of the 90’s most iconic moments and sounds at The Coliseum on March 2.

Dane Cook

Date: Thursday, April 27

Showtime: 8 p.m.

Genre: Stand-up comedy

Regarded as one of the funniest comedians of the 2000s, Dane Cook is hoping his performance of The Perfectly Shattered Tour will win him Employee of the Month honours, once again. The Cambridge, MA native has released six comedy albums, Harmful If Swallowed, Retaliation, Vicious Circle, Rough Around the Edges, Live from Madison Square Garden, and Isolated Incident en route to a successful career in front of the camera and on stage.

Billy Joel

His goal of writing with meaning allowed his music to transcend generations and act as a cultural touchstone for listeners of all ages. Impractical Jokers

Genre: Comedy

After taking the comedy world by storm with their outrageous hidden camera prank show, Brian Quinn (Q), James Murray (Murr), and Sal Vulcano are turning the OLG Stage into their next comedic conquest. Impractical Jokers is TruTV’s longest running and top-rated original comedy but that didn’t stop the guys from taking over the live comedy scene as well. The Staten Island trio has drawn an international audience, selling out shows at Radio City Music Hall (six times), Madison Square Garden, and London’s 02 Arena.

Bret Michaels

Bret Michaels and his luxurious hair are coming to Niagara Falls as part of his Nothin’ But A Good Vibe Tour on Saturday, March 18. Known for his role as lead singer in the rock band Poison, Michaels has made quite the name for himself as a solo artist and television personality. Appearing in his own reality docu-series, Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It, the Capitol Records signee took inspiration from his time in the limelight producing, Custom Built, which reached number one on Billboard’s Hard Rock Chart.
