Only two months after the legal Ontario online gambling went live, Toronto will be the hub for two major gaming summits next week. However, legal gambling in Canada may not be the theme of one conference.
The city will host the SiGMA Americas Summit for three days of networking, workshops and capping off with an awards ceremony at the Rebel Nightclub in Toronto to celebrate the industry’s best brands. All are welcome to cast their votes across 22 categories.
Who is and who’s not legal in Ontario
Although the SiGMA awards ceremony reflects the entire North American continent, the conference is held in a province that legalized online gambling on April 4. Therefore, it is essential to emphasize to readers at PlayCanada that some of the finalists are not legally present in Ontario.
Namely, brands Betway, Mountbet, Betcris and TonyBet are still not regulated. Betway is on its way there as the operator has registered with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario at this point. But it is still awaiting iGaming Ontario approval before going live.
So, for those still in doubt, the regulated and legal Canada betting options among the finalists are OLG, BetRivers, LeoVegas, PointsBet, NorthStar Bets, Coolbet, Party Casino and Rivalry.
