Elements Casino & Raceway Grand River

Elements Casino in Grand River is located at the Grand River Raceway in Elora, Ontario. The casino is owned and operated by the Great Canadian Gaming Corp., and it is one of seven Elements casinos in Ontario and British Columbia. Before it was acquired by GCG in December of 2017, it used to be known as OLG Slots Grand River.

The casino first opened in 2002, and it featured only around 200 video slots. The number has increased over the years, once Great Canadian Gaming took things over in 2017 and renovated the casino fully.

Today, Elements Casino Grand River features over 500 brand new video slot machines, as well as several electronic tables with games such as blackjack, baccarat, roulette and sic bo. Of course, casino gambling is not the only thing that interests visitors here, as they can also enjoy live horse races, which take place three times a week from June to September.

It is also one of the prime locations for both local players and US residents living near the border, who flock by the thousands to enjoy some legal gambling in Canada.

There are several high-end restaurants located near the facility, but the guests don’t even need to leave the casino if they wish to grab something to eat, as there are a couple of dining venues on the casino floor. Unfortunately, the casino does not offer accommodation, so the players who wish to stay for more than a day need to look for nearby hotels in the city of Elora.

Since it operates under the Elements brand, the casino offers its players an opportunity to take part in Elements Rewards, a special rewards program through which you can earn unique benefits and redeem points for free video slot play.

According to the Ontario gambling laws, persons under the age of 19 are not allowed to enter the casino.

Elements Casino Grand River history

The Great River Raceway opened in 2003. At the time, Ontario Lottery Gaming operated the casino, and it was called OLG Slots Grand River. It featured around 200 video slots.

In February 2017, the town’s council approved the expansion of the casino, which was expected to add around 50 table games and increase its collection of video slots to over 1,000. However,  in December of the same year, OLG Slots was sold to Great Canadian Gaming before the plan was executed. The casino was then renamed Elements Casino Grand River.
