Casino de Charlevoix

The Casino de Charlevoix is a world-class casino resort. It is located in the Québec municipality of La Malbaie. The resort, which sits perched atop the cliffs of Pointe-au-Pic overlooking the St. Lawrence River, has views that amplify the gambling and entertainment experience.

Casino de Charlevoix is the first casino in Québec to operate inside a hotel. The summer playhouse of the legendary Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu hotel is home to over 87,000 square feet of casino space, where you’ll find over 900 slot machines, around 20 traditional casino table games, electronic games, keno and a high-limit lounge.

The Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu provides 405 rooms, some of which can accommodate from 10 to 50 people at a time. The ballroom and the conference spaces are big enough for up to 1,000 guests, which makes them ideal for weddings and meetings. On the premises, players also have access to luxurious spa treatments, golf and other entertainment options.

The casino is open 24/7 to all visitors 18 and older. There is also a full-fledged online casino platform, which players can explore from the comfort of their homes.

The casino at the Casino de Charlevoix

The casino floor at the Casino de Charlevoix might not have enough space to compete with the biggest ones in the country, such as Casino de Montréal or Casino Niagara. Still, its diverse lineup is enough to cater to the needs of its customers.

The casino floor, which occupies approximately 87,000 square feet, features more than 900 slot machines, close to 20 table games, a dedicated poker room, electronic table games and a high-limit room.

Slots are available from the leading software providers in the business, such as IGT, Bally and WMS. There is also a collection of table games such as roulette, blackjack and baccarat, all of which offer classic casino gambling.

You can also find multi-game stations where you can switch back and forth between craps, sic bo, baccarat, slots and other games without having to move.

The poker room at the Casino de Charlevoix is a go-to destination for those who prefer old-school Texas Hold’em, pai gow and other poker variants. Daily cash games and tournaments, together with progressive jackpots, are also a source of great fun and potential payouts.

Casino de Charlevoix in La Malbaie, Quebec, does not run any standalone bonuses and promotions. However, it participates in Loto-Québec’s rewards program, Casino Priviléges, which allows players to accrue comp points and trade them for cash and other amenities.

Slot machines

Slots are the focal point of the Casino de Charlevoix, and how would they not be when there are 950 of them? The selection of slots includes Cleopatra, Double Blessings, Triple Jackpot, Double Diamond and many others.

The denominations for the slots start at one cent and two cents, but you can also find the machines where each pull of the lever will cost you $5 or more, not to mention the high-limit lounge, where bets regularly go beyond that.

However, probably the most appealing slots that Casino de Charlevoix offers are the progressive jackpots such as Powerbucks and Diamond Fives. The payout potential of these games can reach millions, as it just keeps getting bigger with each bet that doesn’t win.

The slot machine tournament section is a special area of the casino floor. The casino host will trigger the tournament, and players will try to win as many credits as possible during the indicated time, which is usually between two and five minutes. Whoever wins the most credits will take home the pot.

In addition to slot machines, players can try electronic keno games, such as Special Keno and Méga Keno, where the minimum bet per ticket is $2 and the total aggregate payout is between $20,000 and $250,000 per game.

Table games

Even though the selection of table games at the Casino de Charlevoix might not match all of the slots, it is still worthy of your attention. There are about 20 tables where the minimum bets are set between $5 and $25, depending on the game. You can find versions of roulette, baccarat, blackjack and other games:

  • Blackjack Switch
  • Spanish 21
  • Roulette
  • Baccarat
  • Mini Baccarat
  • Touch Bet Roulette

Moreover, there are 24 multi-game stations on the casino floor, which allow players to log in and choose from among $1 roulette, $5 blackjack, $1 craps and sic bo, $5 baccarat, and $1 slot machines and quickly jump from one game to another without having to move.

Casino Priviléges loyalty program

As we briefly mentioned, Casino de Charlevoix takes part in the Casino Priviléges loyalty program that all land-based casinos operating under the auspices of Loto-Québec are a part of. The program allows players to earn comp points every time they play slots, table games, keno, poker or any other game available at the casino. What’s more, whenever you dine at one of the resort’s restaurants, you will also accumulate loyalty or comp points, which you can then exchange for free play and other perks. For example, you can exchange 300 loyalty points for $1 in free play.

Speaking of perks, they depend on your loyalty level. The Casino Priviléges is a four-tier program with the following structure:

  • Priviléges — 0 to 1,599 points
  • Priviléges Plus — 1,600 to 34,999 points
  • Prestige — 35,000 to 399,000 points
  • Prestige Plus — 400,000+ points

The higher the level, the better the perks. You can expect tons of benefits, from birthday bonuses, discounts at restaurants and slot machine reservations to exclusive offers and access to the high-limit rooms, which are only available to those at the Prestige Plus level.

Note that the points accrued during a 12-month period and that you need to insert your card into the machine every time you play to earn points.

Casino de Charlevoix poker room

The Casino de Charlevoix poker room features seven tables. You can play a variety of cash games and tournaments in Flushes Gone Wild, Texas Hold’em, Three Card Poker, Pai Gow Poker and Let It Ride Bonus Poker.

The minimum bet amount is $5, while the biggest payout comes from the bad beat jackpot. The jackpot can go to a player who has played a cash poker game and lost at a showdown despite having a full house of three aces and two jacks or a hand with an even higher value.
