It operated by Société des casinos du Québec, a subsidiary of owner Loto-Québec, along with three other prominent Canadian casinos — Casino de Montréal, Casino de Charlevoix and Casino de Mont‑Tremblant.

Opened in 1996, Casino du Lac-Leamy boasts a 25-year history as one of the most prominent gambling locations in the province and beyond.

Casino du Lac-Leamy history

Casino du Lac-Leamy opened on March 24, 1996, as one of the first government casino projects set up to raise funds for the community. It is currently owned by Loto-Québec and operated by its subsidiary company Société des casinos du Québec.

It underwent its first significant expansion in 2001. The $210 million investment resulted in a 349-room Hilton Hotel, a performance hall, a conference center and the 1,100-seat Théâtre du Casino.

The gambling area received a makeover in 2015, following a $50 million renovation project that included a new central bar and nightclub, a new multimedia structure and a revamped entrance hall and high limit lounge.

In 2016, the casino brought in more than $244 million, counted more than 2.5 million visitors and employed over 1,400 people.
