Magic Palace Montreal history
Magic Palace has undergone a few face-lifts and rebrandings throughout its history. It opened as Snake’s Poker in 2009, setting a new standard in the local poker scene. However, things started to change in the subsequent years when other poker rooms, most notably Playground Poker, added higher stakes games and more food choices.
Since Snake’s Poker found itself in dire need of an upgrade to keep up with the competition, it ended up having to close its doors in November 2015. However, the poker venue was able to launch again in May 2017 with brand-new aesthetics and a high-end bar and restaurant. The establishment also had a new name — Poker Palace.
Unfortunately, the intervention proved insufficient in creating sustainable competition to the neighbouring Playground, which also featured electronic gambling devices. Therefore, the Poker Palace management saw the need for another update and added 371 electronic gambling devices before reopening as Magic Palace on Feb. 8, 2019.
Today, Magic Palace offers more than 400 EGDs and more than 20 poker tables, along with Mirela’s, its high-end bar and restaurant with a variety of food choices.
