How To Bet On Mariners Games
When MLB season is in full swing, many of the top sportsbooks have a dedicated link or icon that’ll bring you right to the action. There’s also a full menu of all sports available for betting. Once you click on baseball and drill into MLB, all of the upcoming games will pop up in the betting lobby.
They’ll be listed out in order by start time. The main game listing will feature the odds for the main pregame bets: moneyline, runline, and totals. Here’s what you need to know about each of them.
- Moneyline: Just pick the team that you think will win the game from the favorite (negative American odds or the lower of the two decimals) or underdog (positive American odds and the larger decimal).
- Ex. Mariners -160 or 1.63 over Athletics
- Runline: The standard MLB runline is set at 1.5. You can take the favored side minus the runs or go with the underdog plus the line. The side you pick has to cover the runline.
- Ex. Mariners -1.5 over Rangers
- Totals: Also known as an Over/Under, you’re betting on how many runs will be scored in the game: over or under the estimated number set by the sportsbook.
- Ex. Mariners vs. Astros Over/Under 9.5
When you want to place a bet, just click on the odds that go along with your choice. It’ll move over to the bet slip where you’ll verify or make changes, add in the amount that you want to bet, and click submit when everything is good to go. Once placed, you can view the wager in the open bets section of your account.
All three of the pregame bets bring in plenty of volume, but there are other ways to get in on the action. When you click through on a main game listing, you’ll see all of the available props, alternate lines, and innings bets that are available for that contest.

Brief Mariners history
The Seattle Mariners compete in American League West and have since joining the league as an expansion team in 1977. They played inside the Kingdome until moving into what is now the T-Mobile Park, a retractable roof stadium, in 1999.
The M’s posted a losing record every year until 1991. Ken Griffey Jr. led the team through its glory years in the 1990s. But, after winning an AL record 116 games in 2001, the Mariners started losing again. Seattle is the only team never to have reached the World Series and one of six never to win a title. The team hasn’t reached the postseason since that remarkable 2001 season, marking the longest playoff drought in baseball.
The principal owner of the team is a group called Baseball Club of Seattle, LP, represented by CEO John Stanton. The group took control of the team on August 19, 2016, when Nintendo of America agreed to sell the majority of its interest in the Mariners to what was then called First Avenue Entertainment LLLP.
Nintendo retained a 10% stake in the team, but then CEO Howard Lincoln retired from day-to-day operations and Stanton replaced him as Chairman, CEO, and the designated Major League Baseball Control Person.
