Caesars Sportsbook Canada Bonus Code and Review

Disclaimer: Caesars sportsbook in not yet available in Canada. Caesars sportsbook bonus offer will be updated once sports betting becomes legal in Canada.

If single-game sports betting is legalized in Canada, Caesars Sportsbook is a good bet to be among those aiming to get licensed in the Great White North. Caesars users would be able to bet remotely on their smartphones, tablets and computers using the sportsbook’s app or website.

Caesars already has a casino in Windsor, Ontario — Caesars Windsor Hotel & Casino — so adding an online sportsbook would make a lot of sense. It is even more likely since Ontario has been an advocate for single-game sports wagering for a while now.

On this page we’ll preview what a Caesars Sportsbook in Canada would look like and the types of promotions you might see. We’ll also go over the sports and bets that Caesars covers, among other topics, but let’s quickly go over where things stands in terms of legal sports betting in Canada.

While single-game sports wagering is not currently legal, that could change soon thanks to Bill C-218. The bill could have a similar effect to the US Supreme Court’s decision to strike down the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act in 2018, which led to individual states legalizing sports betting. In much the same way, C-218 would give Canadian provinces the ability to decide for themselves how they want to handle retail and online sports betting.

What’s great about Caesars Online Sportsbook?

  • Bet on the website or on the go via app.
  • Multiple welcome bonuses for new users.
  • Variety of sports to bet on and types of wagers to place.

Caesars Sportsbook welcome bonus

Since it still is unclear if online sportsbooks will be legal in Canada, we do not know with 100% certainty what Caesars’ exact welcome bonus would be. However, there’s no reason to think the welcome bonus in Canada would differ all that much from the one the sportsbook has in New Jersey.

When bettors in New Jersey sign up using the code LEGALRF, they’re eligible to receive a first deposit match at a rate of 100% for up to $5,000.

In New Jersey, Caesars has an online sportsbook and online casino, and the playthrough requirement varies depends on what you’re betting on. The requirement for slots is 5x, for video poker it’s 10x and for all other casino games and sports bets it is 25x. So, if Caesars sticks to the 25x rate for sports wagers, a user who deposited $300 would need to bet $7,500 in order to unlock the full amount.

Caesars Sportsbook Canada promotions

One of the downsides of Caesars is that it tends to not offer much in the way of promotions beyond the welcome bonus. Should that change, here are some common promos at other online sportsbooks that might appear at Caesars.

  • Insurance offers: If you create a parlay with at least three legs, and it loses by just one leg, you could receive up to $10 or $25 back. At times, oddsmakers even will run specials where parlays are completely risk-free up to a specified amount, but those offers are much more rare.
  • Odds boosts and profit boosts: Odds boosts are when books increase the odds for a specific bet. It can be for a straight bet or a prebuilt parlay. Either way, the end result is the same; you stand to win more money than you otherwise would. Profit boosts let you bet on whatever you want, while increasing your profits by a set percentage.
  • Risk-free wagers: Usually online sportsbooks offering risk-free promotions will issue refunds as free bet credits, not cash. Just be sure you understand exactly how the promotion works before putting your money at risk.

Caesars rewards program

Despite not offering sportsbook promotions, Caesars does have a loyalty program, which is connected to Caesars’ casinos around the globe, including Caesars Windsor Hotel & Casino.

For every $10 that you wager at Caesars, you receive one reward credit. You can redeem reward credits for various shopping, dining and room stays, along with cash. It does, however, take 1,000 credits to receive $10, meaning you would need to make $10,000 in bets at Caesars Sportsbook to get $10 cash back. That’s definitely better than nothing, but it still leaves something to be desired from an online sportsbook.

Is Caesars legal in Canada?

Currently it is not. The reason is that single-game betting is not legal in Canada right now, so sportsbooks like Caesars aren’t even able to apply for a sports betting license yet.

All of that could be changing soon, however. The Safe and Regulated Sports Betting Act is attempting to change the criminal code when it comes to sports wagering. And if Bill C-218 passes, then sportsbooks such as Caesars likely would be able to open up in whatever provinces decide to allow single-game wagers.

Each province would likely decide the rules and regulations for sportsbooks, and once those steps are complete, Caesars would be able to apply for a license and then open to the public.

How to create a Caesars Sports account in Canada

For starters, registering for a Caesars Sportsbook account is free. All you need to do is open the Caesars Sportsbook app or go to the Caesars webpage and click “Join now.”

After that, you will need to enter your name, home address, phone number, email address and date of birth, and create a password. You’ll need to agree to the terms and conditions, and verify your age, as well.

Caesars Sportsbook app

The Caesars app is free and available for Android and iOS devices. In the US, the app is a combination sportsbook and casino, so one of the questions we still need to have answered is whether the app will be a standalone sportsbook in Canada or a dual one like in the US.

The sportsbook portion of the app allows for easy betting thanks to a quality bet slip as well as plenty of headers to find all the games they want to bet on. As is the case with most apps, Caesars does work best with high-quality Wi-Fi or a mobile data connection. Users also will need some form of geolocation technology on their devices to verify they are in a province that allows Caesars Sportsbook.

How to download the Caesars Sportsbook app on iOS

Follow one of our links to make sure you’re downloading the correct Caesars app. After clicking the link, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select “Download on the App Store.”

Once there select “Get” and then authorize the purchase (yes the app is free, but the App Store still calls it a purchase). The app will take a few seconds or a minute at most to download, then you can open it up and either register or sign in, and you’ll be ready to start betting.

How to download the Caesars Sportsbook app on Android

The process for getting the Caesars app for Android is very similar to that of the iOS app. Start by clicking on the link to the Caesars site, then selecting “Download Our App Now!”

A message will pop up on your Android phone or tablet asking if you want to download the file because it could harm your device. There’s nothing to worry about; select “OK.” Then, after the file finishes downloading, you’ll select it and click install. Once it’s finished, you’ll be ready to start using the app.

Best features of the Caesars Sports app

One of the best features of being a Caesars user is automatically being enrolled in the Caesars Rewards club. While the cash back is not great ($10,000 in sports wagers to receive $10 cash back), the rewards you get from Caesars properties around the world are worthwhile.

Another positive that could be especially great for Caesars users in Canada is the fact that the US site is a dual sportsbook and casino. It would make sense that Caesars would be looking to offer the same thing to users in Canada, as well.

Lastly, Caesars Sportsbook has a very good customer support team if users run into any problems. You can reach out for help via chat, phone or email, so there should be something for everyone.

How could Caesars improve?

While Caesars has a really good product right now, there are a few ways we believe it could do better by the time it launches in Canada.

First and most importantly, it would be good if Caesars started offering more promotions through the year. So many sportsbook apps have quality promotions going on all the time, yet Caesars has next to nothing to offer its sports bettors.

Along those lines, we also would like to see Caesars up its welcome bonus for new customers. A deposit match offer is great, but only matching up to $300 definitely is on the low side. The real kicker though would be lowering how much of a playthrough rate you need to meet to claim the full amount, as 25x seems to be on the high side.

The final area that Caesars Sportsbook could improve on is the consistency at which it offers futures bets. At times Caesars will have a number of futures markets available for multiple sports, but then a few weeks later there will be next to nothing available.

Types of bets available at Caesars Sports Betting

Here are the various types of wagers Caesars Sportsbook offers.

  • Moneylines: Place a wager on the side that you think will win. Negative odds indicate a favored side, and positive odds an underdog.
  • Point spreads: Spreads involve an estimated margin of victory. Favored teams must win by more than the spread and underdog teams must avoid losing by more than the spread.
  • Over/unders: Wager on the combined total score by both sides of a game. It does not matter how many points each individual team scores or which team wins, only the combined total for both teams.
  • Props: Think of props as side bets. They can be on individual accomplishments, like whether a player will score a goal during a hockey game. They also can be team-related, such as which team will reach 50 points first in a basketball game.
  • Parlays: Multiple picks combined into one wager. Parlays are difficult to win because each individual selection needs to come through; if even one bet fails the whole parlay loses.
  • Teasers: Combine multiple picks like in a parlay, but you’re able to move the line for each bet in your favor.
  • Round robins: Multiple wagers like with a parlay, but arranged in such a way that you can miss one pick and still win some money.
  • Futures: Long-term wagers, such as betting on a team to win its division or conference. Bets are also available on individual accomplishments.
  • Live betting: Place bets on games in progress. We’ll have to wait and see whether this is something that Canada allows.

Sports you can bet on at Caesars

Caesars Sportsbook does not offer quite as many betting markets as some other online sportsbooks, but the sports that you’re going to be missing out on are smaller ones like table tennis, darts and cricket.

Caesars accepts bets for all the major sports, such as the NHL, the NBA, the NFL, MLB, UFC, tennis, the PGA Tour, NASCAR, college football, college basketball and rugby. Caesars also has betting markets for top soccer leagues from around the world, including for the English Premier League, MLS, World Cup, UEFA Champions League.

One thing that will be interesting to follow is whether Caesars, and other US sportsbooks, will look to add betting markets for sports that are more popular in Canada, such as curling and lacrosse.

How to deposit and cash out on the Caesars app

Until something becomes official, we cannot guarantee that all of these deposit and withdrawal options will be available, but these are the options at Caesars in the US, so it’s a pretty good bet that many of them would be available north of the border, as well. Here are the methods for depositing:

  • Credit and debit cards
  • ACH (e-check)
  • Online banking transfers
  • Play+ prepaid debit card
  • PayPal
  • PayNearMe
  • Neteller

And here are your choices when it comes time to withdraw:

  • ACH (e-check)
  • Play+ prepaid debit card
  • PayPal
  • Neteller

Caesars already has a casino in Ontario, Caesars Windsor Hotel & Casino, so if Ontario allows online sportsbooks and Caesars gets licensed there, you most likely will be able to complete transactions in person at the casino cage there.

History of Caesars

Caesars’ history actually dates back to 1973 and the Eldorado Hotel in Reno, Nevada. Caesars has gone through many name changes since, but as it stands today, Caesars operates over 50 properties around the world.

In the US, there is a Caesars online sportsbook in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and there is a chance more could launch before sports betting in Canada is ready to go live.

Caesars is clearly nowhere near done growing, as two mega-deals took place in 2020. First, Caesars Entertainment and Eldorado Resorts joined together to form the biggest gambling company in the US, Caesars Entertainment. And then on the sportsbook side of things, Caesars made a splash when it purchased UK oddsmaker William Hill for a reported $3.7 billion.
