The poker room is open from 10 am through 6 am on Tuesday through Thursday and is open 24 hours a day for the rest of the week. There are nightly tournaments including knockout bounties and ladies showcase events. These run alongside the regular cash game action that features Texas Hold’em and Pot-Limit Omaha games.
Located at the main cashier on the first level, Game Picks allows for sports betting in line with Canadian laws. You can make selections on a limited range of major sports. They are NFL, NHL, MLB, American college football, and basketball.
You can earn reward credits as part of the reward program at Caesars Windsor. This is an international scheme. Players get credit for play, plus hotel and restaurant spending at Caesars resorts around the world. Comps and free play can then be enjoyed at any of these casinos.
You’ll earn one point for every $5 you wager at the slots, and one point for every $10 wagered at video poker. The rate at which you earn points at table games depends on which game you are playing, how long you play for and the average size of your bet.
You can then redeem these points at the rate of $1 for every 200 credits. They can be used for slots, or for food or hotel stays.
As well as the redeemable reward credits, you’ll also earn tier credits, which can move you up the different levels and bring even greater rewards. The scheme starts off with a gold card, before moving to Platinum, Diamond, Diamond Plus, Diamond Elite, and Seven Stars.
There are significant benefits for reaching the higher tiers. When you reach the diamond levels you can enjoy 15% off the best-advertised rates on rooms or a celebration dinner up to a value of $100. Reach Diamond Elite and Caesars will reward you with a $600 airfare credit to Las Vegas. Seven Stars players can enjoy free cruises, a free retreat to any Caesars destination, and benefits via a personal host.
The hotel at Caesars Windsor has recently undergone interior renovations. This is a four-diamond-rated luxury hotel. Guests can stay in one of the 758 rooms in the Forum and Augustus Towers, overlooking the riverfront trails of Windsor and Detroit. Table games fans have a huge choice too. There are classic games (many with big side bets), plus casino poker table game options. The original idea for the casino came in 1993. The Ontario government selected a joint venture between Caesars World, Circus Circus Enterprises, and Hilton Hotels to create the first province-owned casino. It opened at a temporary site in May 1994 at the former Art Galley in Windsor, while the main site was under construction.
The main site opened on July 29, 1998, complete with a James Bond theme for the grand opening. It featured a waterfall and tropical entrance, five restaurants, a gift shop, and a hotel.
In 2008, a major renovation took place at a cost of $400 million, which also saw the casino given its current name of Caesars Windsor (previously it had been known as Casino Windsor). The grand re-opening featured Billy Joel performing as the guest star.
