River Cree Resort and Casino history

The casino resort began operating in 2006 as a joint venture of River Cree Enterprises LP, Paragon Gaming, and their investors. After years of cooperation, River Cree Enterprises LP bought Paragon Gaming’s share, making the River Cree Resort and Casino the first casino resort to be owned exclusively by a First Nation tribe.

The resort has gone through multiple renovations, and the most recent one was in 2019 when the Embers smoke-friendly casino floor was opened, adding new 25,000 square feet of space, gaming machines, and Onyx Lounge.

The resort employs 900 people, 10% of which are from Enoch Cree Nation, and 20% are of Aboriginal origin.
