Points Bet Canada has a new vice president of marketing.
PointsBet announced Dave Rivers as VP of marketing for their Canadian subsidiary. In his new role, Rivers will report to the company’s CCO, Nic Sulsky.
From Bell to PointsBet
Rivers, a former director of brand marketing and sponsorship at Bell, will play a vital role for PointsBet’s Canadian team.
Previously, Rivers was responsible for driving Bell’s national sponsorship strategy and portfolio. That included everything from contract negotiations to activation and content creation.
Since joining the company in 2001, Rivers held leading digital sales, marketing, and customer experience roles.
“I’ve been fortunate over the course of the last 20 years to hone my craft in experiential and digital marketing and have long been a fierce advocate for technology,” said Rivers.
“To join a technology company like PointsBet, on the cutting edge of an entirely new industry in Canada, is an incredibly exciting opportunity and one I couldn’t possibly pass up.”
Before joining Bell, Rivers spent time as director of strategic alliances at Lycos Media. He was also a director of sales and marketing for eyeReturn.
Rivers, a Ryerson University graduate, is a proud Canadian who also identifies as First Nations.
Leader, creator, mentor
“Dave is one of the smartest and most capable marketers in North America and is going to play a key role as we prepare to launch a business that is unique to our roots here in Canada, as well as one that will use its own world-class technology to deliver for our future customers,” Sulsky said.
“He’s a leader, a creator, a mentor, and a community builder. I can’t wait to begin our work together and continue to build out a company that delivers something completely different for the sports betting public in Canada.”
The appointment follows a series of recent senior hires at PointsBet Canada, including Dale Fallon, Scott Vanderwel, and Chantal Cipriano.
The premier global online gaming operator has rapidly expanded its presence in Australia and the US.
The company delivers proprietary technology, a modernized and premium brand mindset, expert business practices, and marketing strategies through various partnerships.
Via PointsBet Canada, PointsBet is determined to launch in local markets as regulations permit.
