A prominent online gambling research company recently added a Canadian angle to their highly-regarded industry reports for the first time.
The December edition of Eilers & Krejcik Gaming and Fantini Research‘s monthly iGaming performance report included a section dedicated to the Canadian online gambling landscape. Previously, the Eilers-Fantini collaboration had focused solely on the US online wagering market.
As part of its first foray north of the border, the group collected data from nearly 8,200 online casino games.
This sample size of seven sites included a mix of provincial lottery operators and third-party Ontario online casinos. However, no specifics were given as to which other provinces and online operators were used.

Canadians’ slot preferences greatly differ from US
According to the latest Eilers-Fantini report, Canadian and American players share little common ground in terms of their preferred slot titles.
For December, Pragmatic Play’s Sweet Bonanza earned the top spot among Canadian online casino-goers.
Following in the second spot was Light & Wonder’s Jin Ji Bao Xi Endless Treasure. Live Dealer Roulette from Evolution took third place and IGT’s Cash Eruption was fourth. Pragmatic Play’s Gates of Olympus rounded out the top five.
Supplier Pragmatic Play led the Canadian market in terms of Gross Gaming Revenue with a share of 18.6%. This bested second-place Evolution (16.1%), which together with IGT and Light and Wonder form the US ‘big three’ suppliers. Nevertheless, IGT (15.2%) and Light and Wonder (11.1%) rounded out the Canadian GGR top four.
