ToonieBet is strengthening its presence in Canadian football with a new multi-year agreement to become the Exclusive and Official iGaming Partner of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
The deal expands ToonieBet’s growing investment in the Canadian Football League (CFL). It also comes just weeks before Alberta is expected to launch its regulated online gambling market on July 13. The timing gives ToonieBet another opportunity to grow its brand beyond Ontario.
As part of the agreement, ToonieBet has secured naming rights to the club level at Hamilton Stadium and will introduce dedicated fan activation areas, stadium branding, digital promotions, and contests throughout the season. The company said the partnership is designed to integrate its brand into the game-day experience rather than rely solely on traditional advertising.
A CFL Strategy That Goes Beyond the League
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats agreement extends ToonieBet’s partnership with the CFL. Both have been building their relationship over the past year.
In 2025, the operator signed a multi-year deal to become the league’s Official Sports Betting Partner and Official Online Casino Partner. The agreement included access to official league data, Grey Cup sponsorship rights, integration with CFL Fantasy and Gametracker in Ontario, and odds displayed across the CFL’s digital platforms.
It also gave ToonieBet exposure throughout the CFL season across league-owned digital products in addition to traditional sponsorship rights.
The Tiger-Cats agreement expands that strategy beyond the league itself. The league agreement provides exposure across the CFL. This new deal, by contrast, gives ToonieBet an ongoing presence with one of the league’s most recognizable franchises.
The operator will have naming rights to the club level at Hamilton Stadium, two dedicated activation spaces inside the venue, and a series of fan contests and digital initiatives throughout the season.
The partnership also aligns ToonieBet with one of the CFL’s most established franchises. The Tiger-Cats have won 15 Grey Cups and are among the league’s most recognizable clubs. With more than 150 years of football tradition in Hamilton, their fan base extends well beyond the Hamilton region.
Through permanent stadium branding and season-long activations, ToonieBet will be able to engage fans beyond broadcasts and digital betting products. The arrangement gives the company another way to strengthen its presence in Canadian football.
Building Momentum Before Alberta
The announcement comes just weeks before Alberta opens its regulated online gambling market on July 13. ToonieBet is expected to be among the many Alberta online casinos and sportsbooks launching on day one.
Currently, the Tiger-Cats partnership is centred on Ontario. However, its timing could help ToonieBet raise brand awareness ahead of Alberta welcoming one of the most competitive regulated iGaming markets in Canada. More than 45 operators have already received approval to launch. That gives operators another opportunity to strengthen brand recognition ahead of the opening day.
The CFL season is already underway. For ToonieBet, this creates an opportunity to build visibility during one of the busiest periods on the Canadian football calendar. It reinforces ToonieBet’s broader strategy of expanding its presence through Canadian football as it prepares to enter a second regulated province.
With new stadium activations, digital promotions, and a league-wide partnership already in place, the company will enter Alberta with an established marketing presence in one of the country’s most popular sports.
Expanding Across Canadian Sports
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats agreement also continues ToonieBet’s broader investment in Canadian sports partnerships.
Alongside its league-wide CFL agreement, the operator has also partnered with the Ottawa Senators. The agreement gives the brand visibility across both the CFL and the NHL.
According to parent company Soft2Bet, the Tiger-Cats deal represents its third major Canadian sports partnership in roughly the past year. It shows a continued focus on locally recognized teams and leagues rather than international sponsorships.
That approach fits with how ToonieBet has positioned itself since entering Ontario. Instead of relying on large-scale advertising campaigns alone, the operator has built its approach around sports partnerships. These create regular touchpoints with sports fans throughout the season, from league integrations to in-stadium activations.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats agreement gives ToonieBet another high-profile sports property ahead of its expansion beyond Ontario. With Alberta’s launch less than a month away, the company continues to build a marketing strategy centred on Canadian teams, leagues, and fan experiences.
