The Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC) has granted a one-year iGaming Goods or Services Supplier licence to Bede Gaming. This approval is a part of the regulated Alberta online casino launch process later this year.
The AGLC has been busy ahead of the launch, granting access to BetRivers Casino and Caesars Palace Casino. These operators are already allowing players to pre-register accounts.
Bede Gaming gets Alberta approval
Bede Gaming, a certified SOC 2 software provider, recently received a conditional one-year iGaming Goods or Services Supplier licence from the AGLC. The AGLC regulates the Alberta iGaming market.
Bede Gaming is an award-winning software provider with a presence in five global markets, including Canada. Over the years, it has earned a reputation as a leading provider of bespoke, highly configurable iGaming architecture. This meets client needs without breaching regulatory requirements.
Colin Cole-John, Bede Gaming’s Chief Executive Officer, welcomed the approval to offer services in the market and proclaimed his eagerness for
“…the exciting opportunities ahead in this new market.”
Bede Gaming’s regulatory approval is conditional. Even so, it is one of the first software providers to be licensed to offer tailored, innovative iGaming support in the province.
How Bede Gaming’s entry may shape the market
Alberta’s post-launch iGaming market can presumably attain an iGaming and regulatory reputation that attracts international operators in the coming years. Bede Gaming’s entry into the market may provide iGaming sites with innovative yet localized support for iGaming, lottery, bingo, and Alberta sports betting products. It also offers integration of retail and digital iGaming services, which will suit operators looking forward to providing brick-and-mortar services.
Ultimately, Bede Gaming could serve as a force multiplier that improves its partners and allows them, as Cole-John puts it,
“to hit the ground running as soon as they’re ready to launch.”
A New Phase for Alberta’s iGaming Is on the Horizon
As the first quarter of 2026 rolls by, the launch of Alberta’s iGaming market draws closer. More iGaming brands will likely join the pre-registration queue. Caesars Entertainment, PointsBet Casino, and BetRivers Casino are already on it.
Bede Gaming’s regulatory approval and its potential signal a favourable prospect for the market.
